International Admissions Process
Sunview College welcomes international students from around the world. Sunview College, founded in 1998, is registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 and is providing education in Business, Healthcare, Hospitality, Management and Technology. We are a proud member of Career Colleges Ontario (CCO) and National Association of Career Colleges (NACC). Sunview College is duly approved by the provincial government as a Designated Learning Institute to host international students since June 2014. Our DLI Number is O19395164201 – Click here to verify.
If you are interested in studying at Sunview College, please review the steps provided below carefully-
Step 1: Choose the program that you would like to pursue. For complete list of our programs check out our programs page
Step 2: Fill out and sign the Sunview International Student Application Form Make sure you submit the completed and signed application along with a photocopy of the following supporting documents:
- Copy of Passport
- Educational certificates and transcripts
- Proof of Language Proficiency
Step 3: Upon receipt of your completed application form and supporting documents, we will check your eligibility and offer you free Conditional Offer of Acceptance.
Step 4: You will be required to pay non-refundable fee of $500 for confirmation of admission and to issue Letter of acceptance. This fee is considered towards program fee once visa is issued. For payment information – Click here
Step 5: Once the Letter of acceptance is issued, you will be sent the copy of contract to fill and sign, following which your 25% tuition fee payment can be made through bank transfer. Any bank transaction charges must be paid by the student.
Step 6: Once you receive your Letter of Acceptance and tuition fee receipt , you will have to submit the letter along with other supporting documents to apply for your Study Permit. See “Student Visa” tab to view instructions on how to apply and the list of documents required.
Step 7: Upon receiving a decision on your study permit, please provide a copy of your study permit decision to international@sunviewcollege.com
NOTE : International Students already attending another University or College in Canada who wish to transfer to Sunview College should contact our International Admissions Department through email at international@sunviewcollege.com or call to set up a personal appointment at (905) 279-0123.

International Admission Requirements
Required Documents
International students will require to submit following documents before the start of their program at Sunview College:
- A completed and signed International Student Application
- Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) and/or Study Permit (depending on your country)
- Valid Passport
- Academic Transcripts
- High School, College, University or Technical School Diploma
- The Sunview College entrance exam (Wonderlic or Ontario Secondary School Diploma equivalent evaluation test)
- Proof of Language Proficiency (if required)
NOTE: Academic Diplomas must be verified by a third-party credential evaluation service provider.
Language Requirements
Students coming from a country where English is NOT the official language are required to meet any ONE of the following language criteria
- Submit valid and official test results from any one of the following testing authorities. Minimum required scores for each are provided below:
- IELTS (Academic): An overall score of 5.0
- TOEFL: 500 PBT, 185 CBT, 74-766
- PTE (Academic) with a minimum 50 overall
- Duolingo : 75-80
- iBT TOEIC: 775
- Cambridge: CAE or CPC band of 5.5
- Take the Sunview College English Language Placement Test and score a minimum of 6
- Successfully complete the CLB level Nine of an approved ESL program
- Successfully complete an ESL course from an accredited language school, complete an international school year or foundations year pathways program.
- Provide a transcript documenting at least one year of post-secondary education where English was the only medium of instruction.
- This must be a full-time program where the applicant passed with a mark of at least 75% or B grade.
- Students should send copies of their English language studies for an assessment and submit a certified copy of their transcripts to be evaluated by Sunview College as equivalent to a Canadian High School Diploma (Grade 12).
- For students who were educated in a country where English IS the official language, only a certified copy of the students’ transcripts is required to be submitted. This will be evaluated by Sunview College as equivalent to a Canadian High School Diploma (Grade 12).

If you are mailing your documents, please make sure that you leave ample time for us to receive your documents before the deadline. Late applications will not be processed.

Alternatively, you may email us your application and a scanned copy of all your documents to international@sunviewcollege.com. If you are applying through an agent, we advise you to please consult with them on the documents you need and make sure you email us clear scanned copies of your documents. Illegible copies will not be processed and may delay admission.
Services
Airport Pick-Up
Students may request Airport Pick-up services by email or fax. The request must be received at least 1 week before your arrival date. $150 CAD Fee for Airport Pick-up service. A representative from Sunview College will meet your flight at the Airport. Upon arrival, Sunview College will make sure that students reach their accommodations safely.
Medical Health Insurance
Medical health insurance is mandatory for all international students studying in Canada. The cost of health insurance is not included in the tuition fees. We are partnered with Guard Me International Insurance. For a quote, please go to Guard Me.
Accommodations
Students should consult with either Sunview College directly or with an authorized representative from your home country about living arrangements while studying in Canada. To help ensure a place to live, it is suggested that this decision be made prior to your start date of chosen program. There is a placement service fee of $ 200 CAD.
Computer Rooms
We provide Computer Rooms which are the perfect place to surf the Internet and check e-mail for free, work on class assignments or just surf the Web.
Student Services
We will assist students to access information about transportation routes, banking, hospitals, medical clinics, local shopping malls, grocery stores, main attractions, movie theaters, and other cultural events throughout the year. While you are studying here, don’t forget to explore the many cultural event and activities that Canada and Toronto have to offer. Many of these activities include visiting a number of museums, parks, sporting events including NHL hockey games, Canada Day Fireworks, Niagara Falls, Music festivals, and much more.
Applying for a Visa
Once you receive your Letter of Acceptance, you will need to submit the letter along with other supporting documents to apply for your Study Permit. You can visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/student.asp or download and fill out the following documents:
You will need to visit your nearest Canadian High Commission to apply for your Canadian Study Permit. Make sure you provide them with a fully completed and accurate Study Permit Application Form with all required supporting documents, and act as per their requirements to ensure a positive outcome of your visa application.
Upon a receipt of a response from the Canadian High Commission, you should immediately inform us of the outcome of your application.
- If approved, proceed with the payment of the balance due of the tuition fee + cost of books + cost of certifications exam – if any, and get the upcoming schedule from us and make sure that you arrive in Canada on time to start your study.
- If your Canadian Study Permit application is denied, you may request a revised Letter of Acceptance with a new program start date in order for you to file an appeal.
Your request for a revised Letter of Acceptance is valid for 3 months from the visa refusal date. There will be $100 fee to re-issue a new LOA. If you want to request a refund, you need to send us a copy of the Visa Refusal letter via e-mail to finance@sunviewcollege.com. A fee of $500 will be charged. The remaining fees will be refunded in 3-4 weeks.
