Q: Can I apply as a mature student?

A: Yes! Mature students qualify as those who are over the age for 18 years and have been out of school for more than 1 year. You will also be required to pass a general entrance assessment prior to your admission. Visit our Admissions page to view the admission requirements.

Q: Do you offer financial aid or scholarships that can help me pay for my education?

Q: Do your programs offer placement or internship opportunities?

A: Some of our programs do include a mandatory practicum period as an integral component of the curriculum. These placements are meant to provide you with the Canadian experience necessary to find full-time employment after graduation.

Q: Does Sunview College assist with job searches?

A: Our Career Services works with you to help place you where you can be most successful and gain the most valuable experience in your field. We provide a number of services including resume review, job search workshops, and other career counselling advice. Q: How long does it take to receive OSAP funding?

A: If you qualify for financial assistance, and after all documents are received and filed properly with the government, OSAP could take up to three weeks to provide you with your funding.

Q: I am not sure yet what program I want to enroll in. Can I speak to someone who can help me?

Q: What are the minimum admission requirements for Sunview College?

A: Students must possess a minimum of a Grade 12 education or equivalent OR mature student status (18 years old and over) and pass our entry assessment. Post Graduate Programs require education and/or practical experience as well.

Q: What choose Sunview College over a community college?

A: Sunview College has shorter programs that enable our graduates to graduate sooner and join the workforce.

Additionally, we have small class sizes, taught by instructors who are experts in their respective fields. They will be your mentors and advisors as well, and are more than happy to offer career advice and help with the material.

Q: What is Second Career? How do I know if I am eligible for a second career grant?

A: A Second Career candidate is an individual who is either currently on Employment Insurance, or has been on EI for some time since Jan 1, 2005, and is looking to study/train in a different field than their current profession.

You may even be eligible for a second career grant depending on whether you meet certain criteria. Visit our Second Career Applicants page for more information on eligibility requirements and how to apply.

Q: What should I bring to my appointment?

A: Bring your latest resume detailing your past work experience and educational background. If possible, also bring copies of your degrees or certificates with you to see if you qualify for having some of your credits transferred.
