The Government of Ontario has paused all OSAP payments for students at private career colleges and other private postsecondary institutions while it carries out a province-wide audit of OSAP use in the sector (The Globe and Mail). On October 20, the province confirmed that the pause will stay in place until at least the new year, and that payments will not resume until a strengthened approval process is in place (CBC News, CTV News). The province has also said it is working on low-interest, third-party loan options to support affected students during this period (CBC News). We know this is a stressful time, and we encourage any student with questions about their funding to contact our Financial Aid Office.
